at first pd was crashing very quickly after printing
the xsample banner. i switched to one of hans' older
installers (0.37.1 and tcl/tk 8.4 on my 600mhz g3) and
now everything starts up properly but pd crashes when
i turn audio on if one of the xsample objects is in
the patch. (i'm not sure of the version of xsample...
it's the one included in the installer.)

i suspect perhaps that i'm missing some other library
that xsample needs to run properly? perhaps flext? i'm
just starting to try and get into the guts of the
program so excuse my naivite...
