[PD] vst~ patch

I was wondering if it was possible to replace the noise~  object with a adc~ object in order to edit sounds from another source? It didn't work for me, do I have to change sth in the patch, is it not possible or what? I am talking about the patch here: http://grrrr.org/ext/vst. Sorry for a beginner question. Thanks in advance.
