didn't react on time to this, but now, quiet at the base,
i should have mentionned that with the latest PiDiP,
you don't need to edit configure.ac anymore
( this time is over ),
you can do a :

./configure --with-pdp=<blabla-src>/pdp/libpdp

oops, not even documented.
