Huh. I was about to write and say that it's worked fine for me in both
Windows and Linux, but at this point that'd be lying. I've reinstalled
Windows recently, and the newest PD installer from sourceforge. Now
using the webcam crashes PD. Using windows XP Pro. Looks like I need to
downgrade GEM :-(

However, I am positive it works fine in Linux w/ kernel 2.6.6 and the
latest pwc and pwcx. There's a small problem with a glitch if the stream
gets closed. If this happens, open a second terminal, modprobe pwcx out,
modprobe pwc out, then modprobe them both back in, pwc first then pwcx
and the glitch is gone. Very obnoxious. Sometimes if PD crashes the
camera doesn't get closed and the next time I try to open it, with any
program, the device is busy and can't open.

So I guess what I'm trying to say, is that I was about to say it works
fine, but in reality it hardly works, and not at all well at that.
