all of this means, that you are using an old, outdated and rusty version 
of Gem.
get the newest and best and shiniest from http://gem.iem.at/download.html

be sure to grab the 0.90.1 dll, as it has several bug-fixes with 
video-IN (+ MMX enhancement) and is even more shiny than 0.90.0
