can you do

export DSIPLAY=:0.1
xterm -sb&

and see an xterm on the second screen?

if not, pdp is no stronger than X,
so u'd better fix your X issues.

do you have a big desktop screen on no X at all on the second screen?

in the later case, search a suited XF86Config-4 for your graphic card.
