[PD] M-Audio Firewire Audiophile

Has anyone else had problems with this interface and
pd on os x? 

I've been trying one out this past weekend but had no
end of trouble: I'd either simply get a "audio
stuck... closing audio" message, or I'd get a full on
crash. It doesn't seem to like Audacity either. I
tried installing jack to see if that would work, but
still haven't had any luck.

Anyone had similar experiences? Any suggestions for
solutions? Does the Firewire 410 act the same way?
