hi,
I help run the share event in NYC, while not specifically geared
towards open source, we definitely have that 'edge' for open systems.
(and im pretty in to o.s. :).
Share is currently working on releasing an open source set of community
building tools, specifically our new web page (its running in beta, and
almost done). Feel free to email us at contact at share.dj to ask any
questions about share, our tools and how we went about finding such
kick ass people that make up our weekly event :). Wed love to have some
international sets going and to see other places doing similar things.
Weve done an international event called anyware
(http://share.dj/events/anyware/), and are looking for some more
international projects.
also weve just submitted our fiscal sponsorship application to NYFA so
we can accept donations to hep fund events (specifically geared towards
international collaboration) and possibly setting up similar events and
workshops elsewhere.
Anyway, sorry to blab, but please contact us if you have any questions!
