[PD] [metro] [realtime] and [cputime], were is the true?

I need one way to measures the elapsed real time of a recorded sample 
from [adc~] (beetween the "start recording" bang and "stop recording" 
bang),  in way to use this value for read this sample with [tabread4~]. 
Can I use [realtime] for that ?
