This library is required. (Actually I wonder, why Pd crashes, when
there's no fluidsynth library ...)

Unfortunatly no: I only run Linux. You may find binaries for Mac on
http://www.fluidsynth.org/ rsp.
http://savannah.nongnu.org/download/fluid/

Or try to compile the sources? Maybe Christian can help. I really have
no idea, how stuff like this works on OS-X.
