[PD] why geos dissapear?

hi, list, i have a question about gem ...if i create a geo and move it
away (translateXYZ) from the screen (in axis z )the geo becomes smaller
but then suddenly the geo dissapear. why is that?
im trying to  do  complex structures in gem with lots of geos, and its
annyoing that the geos that are far away from the screen  became
invisible. Is there any way of avoiding this? 
any hint would be nice
