[PD] PDP raw yuv in?

Hello list,

I was wondering if it was possible to read yuv into pdp using yuv4mpeg?
I have tried to do this using mplayer to write to a fifo.

when I used the type bitmap/rgb/352x288
the result was I could actually see the movie, but distorted ( 6 black 
and white squares that slided across the window - quite a funkey video 
effect :)

but using type bitmap/yuv12/352x288 it cannot create.
Is it at all possible to use yuv for raw input instead of rgb?
