[PD] getting PD to run on windows XP

Hi,

   I just downloaded PD and am trying to get it to run
on my laptop (running windows XP).  I followed the
instructions of running it from a command prompt
window with the lines supplied in the instructions
that appear in Puckette's documentation.  I don't know
what the problem is because NOTHING happens when I run
the command lines.  If anyone has any suggestions,
please let me know.  Thanks.
