[PD] choosing midi interface permanently

hi list,

i included the line
-midiindev 1
in my .pdrc but pd does not choose the selected mididevice. i verified 
that it is device 1 by using -listdev. it says:
input devices:
1. Built-in Audio
output devices:
1. Built-in Audio
API number 4

input devices:
1. M-Audio USB MIDI: Port 1
output devices:
1. M-Audio USB MIDI: Port 1

did i missed something?

i am using Pd version 0.38 TEST 4 on os x.
