OTOH, I'm very happy with my HDSP. For me the trick was using Jack. I've
found the interface of PD + ALSA to be tempremental at best no matter
what soundcard. And I use Ardour and other Jack apps anyway, so in the
end it's no big deal to have Jack running. But it's your call really.
The HDSP is legendary for the headaches it causes, but also legendary
for its performance once you get it properly configured.
