Thanks for the many replies!

What turned out so far:

Thanks, i checked the "Remember" option and for the main Pd window it 
was not set, and for the open dialog it is 'unavailable'. But it must 
almost be something related to some winmgr preferences, since kde, etc 
are fine.

ChrisK:
Will try blackblox too.

Common:
One more strange observation: After starting Pd, the first dialog window 
i open (may that be open file...,etc) opens on the correct workspace, 
but all subsequent windows are put on Wirkspace number ONE.

Thanks again for the response, this is not too important, but one of 
these 'little annoying thingies' :-)
