beside that this external is really useful, i've got one question and
one remark ... 

- is it possible to find out the port number of the calling pd? (might
be useful, if you run several pd's at the same time) on the other hand,
this would only work, if the alsa midi api provides such a function ...
unless you're using private pd headers ;-)

- getting the symbols Pure\ Data or Pure\ Data\ Midi-Out\ 1, makes me
think about escaping and strings again ...
