theres a toxy widget that makes this easy. first make sure your tk install has 'Img' and 'dnd' libraries, you have the widget external and img.wid (in CVS /externals/mixed + /extensions/gui/ix) then create an empty [widget img i1] and you will get the broken-image icon, which you can delete when youre done:

just drag some shit in: http://whats-your.name/pd/gui/img.html

and it might look like this: http://whats-your.name/pd/gui/img.PNG

they output a symbol which is filename sans extension. when clicked..
