[PD] Pd and Windows Me crashes

I installed Pd on a notebook with Windows Me and get constantly crashes 
while patching. (The most simple patch imaginable)
I had crashes (everything but the mouse cursor freezes) while just 
dragging an object or creating a patchcord or even just selecting with 
drag.
Audio was switched off by the way.

Is there a known issue with Tcl/Tk eventually? I have the fealing its 
related to the graphical user interface of Pd.

I am running the newest 0.39test4 from Puckette.
