[PD] [GEM] - bug loading pictures with pix_image for a long time ?

Hi list
Ok, not sure why this happens and there is a workaround but
still I felt I should report it.
Very simple: in a gem patch pix_image stops accepting the loading of  
images
after a few hours.

something like this:

[metro 1000]
|
[random 2]
|
[sel 0 1 2]
|       \        \
[open 1.jpg]   [open 2.jpg]   [open 3.jpg]
|                           /                          /
[pix_image]


of course we can always use pix_multiimage but I used the previous on  
an installation
and the bug only came out after a few hours (some thousands of this  
operation?).

OSX 10.4.2, Hans Pd-0.38.4-extended-RC2, Gem 0.9
although it also happens with Windows and 0.91
