[PD] named inlets/outlets

puredataminers,

is there a reason we do not have named inlets/outlets like in max?  i
did some googling but wasn't able to find much discussion of this
except for a similar question asked on this list a few years ago.

it would be really nice to be able to hover over an inlet/outlet and
see an instructive name - some objects do not have help files (or at
least i am not finding the help files).
