[PD] Fwd: PD crashes on launch

Hello list,

a friend of mine with not so much experience in pd wants to use one of my  
patches in a concert, but had bad luck with the installation of pd. I  
can't help him, because we're 1000 Km apart and I use windows, he OsX. Has  
this happened to anybody before?

OSX.3.9, mac mini 1.42, 1G RAM

a composer is preparing a patch so that i can perform a work of his
using PD (processing of miked chamber quartet as well as electronic
sounds).   i have installed PD, which i DL'ed from
http://www-crca.ucsd.edu/~msp/software.html

during installation, i noticed a whack of files being installed, but
i can't find an install log, and actually have no idea what files it
installed (a search for PD gives nothing related).  2-clicking
launches the app, but before it opens completely, it crashes.

PD people please help!
