[PD] getting midi controller to work ...

after upgrading to 0.39, pd -alsa -alsamidi -listdev
gives me

no midi input devices found
no midi output devices found
Opened Alsa Client 128 in:1 out:1

and then midi works - great, this is the first time
I've gotten this to work with linux.
