the problem is the available space. as you can see, its pretty full. only way 
would be to cripple down the possibility to extend it, and thats not what i 
want to do.

however, it would be no problem to design a smaller, easy to build unit that 
is just not extendable, but would use the same firmware.... but my main 
intention was a modular system that is usable for large installations and 
setups as well (like a virtual mixer desk, which requires a lot of fader and 
buttons)
