either use [route list] or [list trim] to get rid of the "list".
then you can send it to [route float symbol].

i daresay that [route f s] won't work at all (you cannot abbreviate 
"symbol" with "s", since [route] should be able to route [s 1 2 bla( to 
somewhere else than [symbol foo()
