This is one of the things that I am asking about on the list. I read
in Dodge & Jerse that Bessel functions can describe attributes of
frequency modulation, so that may be something I can study further for
my project. Although, my advisor did show me a text regarding
harmonic analysis of drum tones. I don't know if I will be able to do
a Bessel/Hankel transform with Pd, since I'm not familiar with what
that is yet!

Nice comic! I think that a math PhD would require more dedication to
the subject than I am willing to provide, but the skills I've learned
so far are very helpful with my other (computer art/sound) endeavors.
I see that you (Matju) have quite a bit of mathematics experience.
Perhaps you could reccommend some areas of mathematics that I could
explore using Pd. (Please, keep it as pedantic as possible, I'm not a
genius!)

I appreciate the other (off-list) emails I recieved, they are very helpful.
