[PD] program control

Hi RG,

Since entertainment seems to be your goal here, I would forgo using PD,
and simply install linux on a second partition for the simple purpose of
watching DVDs. You could then configure mplayer to use your joystick.
There may even be LiveCDs for DVD powered linux watching out there.

You will not be able to get the sound if you play your DVDs through Gem.
(and probably not possible due to encryption).

Maybe there is some commercial windows software that allows your to play
back DVDs with a joystick.

I use my computer to play my dvds. I want to use the joystick to control the movie because the desk is across the room, and even though it's only 5 steps, controlling the volume (and other controls) without having to get up would be a great help.
