only one, pdp_text will not work and because you are missing the default 
font that should be here :
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF/helmetr.ttf

it should be in the package and you should have instaleld X server before..

maybe, it's bad practice, but all has been hard coded in X since years..
