[PD] Ubuntu OSX pdp pidip stuff

So testing on the old 533 went well so i moved the ubuntu installation over to the G4 laptop. And have successfully compiled and am running

pdp0.12.4-test-4
pidip.0.12.10
pdp_freeframe with most of the plugins working
Gem
gem2pdp, pix_2pdp, 
etc...
the ubuntu install disk found my audio,video,wireless card and all devices.

But of course the second monitor out would not work but i found

So now the VJ suite is running on ubuntumac as well

TWO ISSUES i am experiencing;

1.) Logitech usb Webcam flickers wierdly when running through pidip/pdp patches--works fine with XAWTV and effectv [no flickers, but wierd color]
can someone suggest a good webcam to use with ubuntu ppc?

2.) When running Gem, i must slightly re-size the gemwin for it to movies/files in the patch to appear in the Gemwin.

ok, well i guess around 6;30, ye olde linux fever hit me and i installed ubuntu fresh on an 80GB older 533 G4
i did not install OSX. Everything seems to be working well except that the headphone sound does not work and currently all sound is emitted through the internal PC speaker. everything thing else is pretty straightforward
hopefully some Alsa configging will sort that out.

there is a nice marked speed difference from the 533 running OSX 10.3.9 to ubuntu 5.10 breezy
it really does give the machine that old zip again

pd 0.38-4 installed from source and works fine
pdp 0.12.5-test4 works fine as does 
pidip 0.12.20

are these the current versions? 

i cannot seem to get a pdp_qt
and when i run pdp_freeframe from a pdp_yqt i get a NOT A PDP_IMAGE
