hi

I am having trouble reading a firewire dv input with [pix_video]
I can't find much info on selecting drivers, inputs etc
[enumerate( is 'not supported on this OS'

I have a new kanotix/debian installation on an AMD64 system with
the puredata, pd-extended, pd-zexy and Gem packages
Pd version 0.39-2

I used modprobe to load dv1394, raw1394 and video1394 modules
devices appeared at /dev/dv1394/0 and /dev/video1394/0
and I can record video from the firewire input using:

   $ su
   # dvgrab /home/simon/new

I changed permissions:

   # chmod o+rw /dev/raw1394
   # su simon

now dvgrab works without being logged in as root

   $ dvgrab /home/simon/new2

captures the video to file nicely (presumably using /dev/raw1394)

when I open a simple patch pix_film, pix_image work fine
but pix_video using [driver 1( just shows a white screen

Do I need to load something else?
Is pix_video looking for the device in another location?
What messages can be sent to pix_video?

here is more information if it helps:
