[PD] Reading SWF

Hi,
 it would be wonderful to find some tricks
for reading swf files with one or several video rendering library(ies),
like in other famous VJing softwares.
 That trick seems to be very complicated because no external AFAIK
can decompile swf, and read flash related files.
 GNASH gives a good example of codes used for this effect.
The main problem might be about getting a licence that 
permits the usage of the specification to create software
 which supports SWF file playback?
