[PD] expand path names object?

is there an object to expand relative pathnames or
filename which refer to one of the pd pathlist paths
to an absolute path, so that e.g. if i put an image
file inside the same folder as a patch, one can expand
from the mere filename, say myImage.png to a full
absolute pathname? elsewise, is there an object that
tells you the name of the folder of the current patch?
