I think its somewhat resolved.  Try pdp.pd_darwin the release version:

IIRC, that one does not have that problem.  FYI: the pdp in RC7 was  
is compiled from the sources that are now in CVS.  The pdp.pd_darwin  
in the stable version is the one that you built for pd++, tigital.
