[clip~ -0.5 0.5] gives a more balanced sound and its output doesn't have 
much DC compared to -0.05 0.5.

for a more analog sound, replace the clip~ by some kind of [expr~
tanh($v1)], which is clearly my favourite. It's CPU-expensive so it could 
deserve a [tabread4].
