[PD] hid: abs hat confusion?

Strange... the joys of HID.  I am actually immersed in HID right now,  
I am working at STEIM in Amsterdam on [hid] v2 plus a new raw  
[usbhid] object.

Could you post the output of sending a [print( message to [hid] after  
you've opened your device?
