[PD] usb tv capture card on linux

i want to buy a usb device that can capture tv and can feed pd with
live video for image processing with pd/pdp/pidip/pdp-freeframe, maybe
gem.

i am planning to do it on linux.

can these externals works with 640x480? gem probably yes, but i don't
know about pdp/pidip/pdp-freeeframe.

any suggestions?
