forget it, GEM's DV1394 support uses a Linux driver so flaky that when I 
tried porting it to GridFlow i froze my machine solid every time I tried 
it. Next time I try implementing that in GridFlow I'll take the code from 
another program, e.g. Kino, which uses the DV1394 library (which is mostly 
non-kernel, so, won't need reboots).
