[PD] how to open max patches via cyclone??

native .pat loading is broken in newer versions of pd; try pd-0.36 
(probably pd-0.37 will do too).
even when it works, this will only load textfiles.

with cyclone you should be able to just click on the cyclone object: a 
file selector should popup where you can choose the max-patch to be 
loaded (but then: i never have used this)
