[Pd] No sound in OSX through MBox

My school got new Edirol midi controllers over the summer, and new
versions of some of the audio programs.  Now I find, for some reason,
I can't get a squawk out of Pd through the M-Box.  Reason plays
through it with no problem, the Digidesign CoreAudio Manager and the
Audio MIDI Setup dialog show no issues.
If I boot and start Pd, no audio responds; if I then start Reason and
set its output to the Mbox,, the Mbox lights blink like the box was
just contacted, and then Reason plays through it, but still no Pd.

Last semester I used Pd through the Mbox all the time, and I didn't
have to use Reason to activate the Mbox, it just responded when I
selected it in Pd.
I'm running 0.39-2 on OSX 10.4.7 on a PowerPC G5, same as last
semester.  Is there something I could check that I'm forgetting?
