Pd stores numbers only with a limited precision, something like 5 or 6 
decimal digits - but symbols are stored with any number of characters.

Use a symbol box, and [makefilename someprefix%s] before packing.  Note: 
this will not store exactly as the number is entered, but the prefix is 
necessary otherwise it will be considered as a number on load, and then 
lose precision....
