[PD] PD midi (patch for Mac OSX to save using USB-MIDI hardware)

Hello, 
Firstly I am new to PD and was introduced to it by a
friend two weeks ago who has shown me a patch to turn
audio input to MIDI notes. I am using this On my iBOOK
G4 and it runs on Mac OSX 10.3.
Presently I am using this patch alongside Arkaos to
trigger video clips via the MIDI signals that PD is
outputting. My means for doing this so far have been
to output via a hardware MIDI-USB interface (with 1
output, 1 input) looping the signal back into my
machine. That is to say that so far this is the only
way i could find to make Arkaos get a Midi feed from
PD.
I am sure that there is a less clunky was to do this
and would greatly appreciate it if anybody could point
me in the right direction towards a piece of software
