Good idea. You could file a documentation bug report on the
Sourceforge page to make sure this isn't forgotten. 

However it is a common practice not to store configure-files directly
in a CVS, as these a platform-dependent. You will encounter having to
run autoconf first on most other project on Sourceforge as well.
