[PD] Gem 0.91 pbs : window creation + reading video file

hello!
i am trying to use Gem 0.91 from cvs (with pd-0.40-1).
i get this message, repeatedly, when creating a gem window

r300_check_render : fallback:ctx->Multisample.Enabled
??

more tricky i can't read video anymore
using homer.avi i get <ffindeo3> : doesn't support DR1
<ffdv> and <ffmjpeg> claim they don't use DR1 and then produce a 
segmentation fault.
help!
