[PD] Latency Glitches

another story about pd on osx, can't remember the version, i think it
was pd-extended 0.39-2: 
a friend of mine had installed pd on a powerboo half a year ago, and
from the beginning she had bad regular glitches in the sounds, like
triggered from a [metro 500] or so. although she asked many geeks about
that, nobody could help. last week we tried to run pd with jack, and
guess what? no glitches anymore....
