[PD] noisy 'line' ?

Sorry, pretty noobular question here.
I am developing a stereo panner.  It will eventually be midi-steerable, 
to position objects exactly in 3-d stereo space.

I made the attached automated panner patch using [line] to do all the 
fading but it seems to be generating a lot of noise.
Can someone tell me if I have done something wrong or is there a better 
way to accomplish this?
