hello.

sorry for posting [OT] to this list, but i fear the OT-list will not
reach the person in charge.

it seems like somebody has subscribed pd-list to the googlegroups
(either directly or indirectly, i don't know), since i (as
list-administrator) get repeated rejects for pd-list digests from
googlegroups.com.

whoever did it, please undo it.
before you subscribe a non-person (e.g. another mailing list, an
archive, a groups-system,...) to a mailing list you should be aware of
al lthe technical and social implications of your doing and make sure
that a minimum of problems is likely to occur.

on the sovial level: many member of this list have repeatedly expressed
there concerns about unknowingly posting to whatever groups. even though
the pd-lists _are_ public and there archives _are_ publically available,
this is not a realy excuse to publish postings of an author without them
knowing.

on the technical level: mailinglists often do not stack very well
(especially those with restricted access), as this is not what the
developpers of the list-software (usually) had in mind. problems range
from bouncing emails via mail-loops to ...
you ought to know which software is used on both sides and be aware of
any problems that might arise by combining these 2 softwares. you ought
not think about subscribing a list before these problems are sorted out.
