i'd rather say: luckily [bonk] has no built-in delay function, but you
can easily add this functionality with the help of your patch.

that is the whole point of pd: be able to customize as much as possible
to your needs.
if this is too much hazzle, i suggest having a look at desire-data:
there you have a "do what i want" mode, that should give you good results.
