[PD] glitchy [tabread] or ..?

the [tabread] object is certainly well tested and working almost 
everywhere, so if it is not working as expected it might be your 
platform (which you haven't mentioned)

if you are using a 64bit-linux and a pd-version <0.41, consider an upgrade.


however, i haven't tried to fully read your bug description so i might 
be completely on the wrong track...
