[PD] Different Users on the same machine...

actually the readme isn't so clear on this point ...

if a preference file exists in the usual place for you OS then pd- 
extended uses it, if not then pd-extended uses the default one  
included in the distribution, so in order to use the defaults just  
remove the preference file in your home folder.
