i guess i meant that (the one who has the problem just told me that he 
used "open" to run the application, and i was not sure whether you have 
to append the .app suffix or not...anyhow

i always wondered what the Contents/MacOS/Pd really was...so i guess it 
is a wrapper around the GUI part.
